Heaton House Farm Wedding Photography

I always love returning to Heaton House Farm to photograph weddings, and so I was really looking forward to Christina and Adam’s big day at this amazing venue. Heaton House Farm is a rural country home specialised in hosting weddings to couples looking to host their nuptials while boasting scenic views across Cheshire’s countryside. A stones throw from Macclesfield, this family run wedding venue is situated beyond the borders of Cheshire deep into the countryside with fields spanning the rear of the home’s setting. One lone oak tree is perfectly positioned for stunning portraits as newlyweds love to walk hand-in-hand across the lawns of this charming estate.

I met up with Christina and the bridal party in the pamper rooms of Heaton House Farm. As the venue is a purpose built estate for hosting weddings, it is great to see contemporary, lavish design with a quaint and rustic twist. The rooms are interesting from every angle with compositions to be captured using the various surfaces and mirrors that adorn the walls. The venue is quite simply a wedding photographer’s dream.

Sarah Meredith Hair and Make-up

It was lovely to meet the girls in the morning, all in high spirits with the music playing in the bridal suite. I would also be working with the lovely Sarah Meredith Hair and Make-up for the first time, which was exciting!. The day itself was warm and pleasant with no chance of rain, and so we were on for an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of Heaton House Farm. The venue is in the perfect location for alfresco rustic ceremonies boasting views which look out across Cheshire’s beautiful meadows and pastures.

Picturesque outdoor wedding ceremony

It wasn’t long before our couple were all dressed and ready to exchange wedding cards before the ceremony. Chrissie and Adam wanted to do a ‘no look’ card exchange behind the gateway to the gardens. This exchange was a first for me, however, I sure hope it won’t be my last as the emotion was certainly tangible and was a great experience to capture on camera. The pair held hands between the garden’s wooden gate as our bride shed a tear while reading the groom’s heartfelt card.

After a couple of moments we were all ready for the service on the lawn as the wedding guests took their seats. The bridesmaids looked a picture as they walked down the aisle holding their colourful bouquets, shortly followed by the adorable flower girls who held a novel wooden sign for the groom. Then came the beautiful bride who looked absolutely stunning as she slowly walked alongside her dad while linking arms during the processional walk of the ceremony.

Rustic venue dressing by Qube Events

The setting was dressed perfectly by Qube Events who dressed the aisle and ceremony pagoda with verdant colours to complement the wedding theme perfectly. The nuptials for the day were performed under the quaint wooden archway as Chrissie and Adam exchanged rings and vows. The service itself had a great balance of emotion and humour with all eyes on the married couple as the service concluded with the newlyweds kissing under the pagoda. Once the ceremony had ended our newly wedded couple were then duly congratulated by their closest family and friends out on the field of Heaton House Farm before we then got into a round of confetti throwing and group photographs.

Unposed, natural photography

As a wedding venue, Heaton House Farm delivers when it comes to portraits and photographic opportunities. The amount of room and space in the fields outside allows a photographer to capture some great natural moments between newlyweds. There’s also the water garden which opened up a plethora of opportunities for me to document Chrissie and Adam together. When I photograph couples I try to let things naturally play out in front of the camera and so, when the bride and groom share an emotional or funny moment together, it’s this pure emotion which I try to capture. It’s raw moments like these which make a wedding day for me.

First dance and sparkler send off

We had a fantastic couple of hours in the barn for the receiving line and wedding breakfast. It was great to capture so many moments as guests congratulated the happy couple before taking their seats. Once everyone was seated we had a couple of speeches which had everyone in stitches as anecdotes were regaled leaving the bride and groom with their head in their hands! Before you know it, we were on to the cake cutting and first dance which is always eventful to photograph!

The wedding party then ventured outside as the sun was setting for an awesome sparkler exit with our new husband and wife wedding photographers in the beautiful grounds of Heaton House Farm.
