Oddfellows on the Park Wedding Photography

What a little gem of a wedding venue Oddfellows on the Park is! I had the delight of photographing Natasha and Jack’s Oddfellow on the Park wedding recently and was left seriously impressed by this wonderful venue! A converted victorian manor house into a quirky, classy suburban boutique hotel, Oddfellows brings a playful twist to this luxury hotel.

It was here I met up with the beaming bride and her bridesmaids in the morning, all ready for an action packed day ahead! The bridal party were all dressed in matching pink wedding gowns and the champagne was out to help set the mood for the day ahead. It’s a pleasure to photograph in bridal suites like the one at Oddfellows on the Park as keeping consistent with the venue, it has an abundance of quirky, eccentric features whilst also allowing natural light to come through into the room which is helped with it’s grand mirrors and reflective surfaces. This all leads to some fascinatingly creative photographs!

Luxury wedding venue in South Manchester

Being a local south Manchester photographer, I’ve known of Oddfellows since it opened. I actually grew up being taken to Bruntwood Park for the swings, slides and climbing frames, and so was thrilled to shoot my first Oddfellows wedding for Natasha and Jack. Before we knew it, our bride was all dressed up in her wedding dress taking her final moments in one of the grand, gold framed mirrors which adorn the wall of the bridal suite. The venue has the most amazing grand staircase which is decorated with quirky pictures and sumptuous paintings on the walls. It really is a sight to behold and a fantastic photograph opportunity in the lead up to the wedding ceremony.

As Natasha entered the ceremony room all heads were turned in anticipation for the bride to walk down to her groom waiting at the top of the aisle. The nuptials were read under playfully slanted black lampshades which, in keeping with the theme of the venue, provided the perfect setting for our newlyweds to become man and wife.

Eccentric, quirky and playful wedding venue

Before you could say “confetti” we were all at the bar as Natasha and Jack’s families congratulated the newly married couple. We then quickly had a wander into the grounds for a couple of portraits of the happy couple before we all sat down for speeches. The wedding breakfast room looked stunning, all dressed by Event Dressing Cheshire who provided the lavish blossom trees which punctuated the aisle at top and bottom. The speeches were great! loads of genuinely relaxed expressions as Natasha and Jacks best man and bridesmaid regaled their stories of the couple. The day seemed to have a very playful and carefree feel to it which perfectly suited the venue and also my style of photography. I loved the informality of the day which enabled me to be more inconspicuous and fade into the background to capture some real genuine moments during the day.

Oddfellows on the Park weddings

It’s always a pleasure to photograph weddings at Oddfellows on the Park. Personally I love how the venue has retained most of its classic Victorian features and mixes this with peculiar interior and furnishings to create a very cool, trendy, boutique hotel in the south of Manchester. The attention to detail in each and every room really stands out from ceilings to floors dressed with lavish room decor.
With the venue being situated in the vast grounds of Bruntwood Park, there is no setting quite like Oddfellows On The Park hotel with guests being able to enjoy beautiful vistas of mature parkland from every room and be able to step outside to the magical acres of park. All only minutes away from the airport and city life.

The hotel rooms for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and your first dance are all converted victorian manor rooms which have all been brought up to date with some very attractive contemporary styling and peculiar curios to grab your attention. As you enter through the lobby of this suave hotel, be sure to have a look at the grand staircase which takes pride and place at the centre of the hotel.
